So last night Denny Pattyn wrapped up our series "Going all the Way" He did an amazing job! Some of our favorite nuggets were:
- There is a generation rising up that has a higher standard - God's standard
- Our generation is creating history - we'll read about this in the years to come
- Your body and sexuality are more powerful than you could ever imagine
- There are 30 STD's around today, 4 are incurable
- Most people don't find out they have an STD until later in life
- 65,000,000 people have an incurable STD - 1/4 of the population
- You can get STD's through both oral and regular sex
- Teenagers are more likely to get STD's than adults
- You can't be sexually active and grow in your relationship with God
As for the costume party - Here were our two winners:

This Wednesday (Oct. 22) and this weekend (Oct. 25th and 26th) we're going to be having a board made up of: Pastor Nathan Hurst, Laurie Hurst, Sean Moore, Bubba Smith, Vanessa Phillips, and Laura Steidel that will be answering your questions on sex, dating, and the single life.
We've been collecting your questions all month long and will also give you opportunities to ask questions during service.
There are 2 ways to get your questions in during service:
- Open Mic - We'll have someone with a mic and you can ask your question live
- Texting - You'll be able to text your questions in to a number we provide for you!
This is an awesome opportunity so come expecting and come with questions! See you there!

Last night was our last night of Fear Factor! In the finals were Anna Bettencourt and Rebecca Sicilia! They had to eat two live Madagascar hissing cockroaches!
It was absolutely disgusting!
Rebecca Sicilia (pictured below in the black shirt) ended up taking up the grand prize of a flat screen TV! It was pretty sweet! Congratulations to Rebecca and Anna and everybody else who participated!
As for the rest of service... Pastor Nathan Hurst (our new youth pastor) made his debut at Rev! He did a phenomenal job preaching! The biggest takeaway I had was:
The greatest thing I can give back to God isn't the gift of talent He gave me . . . it's when I live a life sold out to God so that who I am as a person gives him glory. (Great nugget!)
Then Pastor Nathan and his wife Laurie opened up the floor to the youth for any questions they had for him to get to know him better... you'll have to listen to the podcast for answers, but some of my favorite questions were:
- What's the worst thing you've ever done?
- Who wears the pants in your relationship?
- To Laurie - Is Pastor Nathan hard to put up with?
Overall... Great Service... See you this weekend!!!

So we had our second round of Fear Factor last night! The 7 contestants had to bob for worms in a mix of tuna, olives, olive juice, and sardines. The first 4 students that got 10 worms are moving on to round 3 next Wednesday. It was pure insanity!
As far as service was concerned: SICK!
It was an awesome service. I loved our worship set and thought Sean and the band did a great job! I love that song "Always Forever" by Phil Wickham. I get pumped up!
Sean spoke on overcoming our fears in life. I thought this was one of the best messages Sean has preached! Listen to the podcast! It will change your life!!
This weekend I'll be continuing our series on Fear Factor... it's going to be awesome! Be there!

So we had 13 contestants crazy enough to be a part of Fear Factor! In our first night we had 2 rounds with the hope of having 8 people move on to next weeks challenge. We ended up with only 7 people who survived!
Round 1 consisted of the Buttermilk Chug followed by the 2nd round in which contestants had to keep crickets in their mouth for 45 seconds, chew them, swallow them, and then down 2 goldfish! Nasty! All of this in hope that 3 weeks from now one of them will be walking home with a 26 inch flat screen TV!
Come out and check out our 2nd week of Fear Factor next Wednesday and see which of the 7 contestants will conquer their fears and move onto the next round!!
For the actual service we had an amazing time in Worship with Sean Moore and then we had our 4:12 Students run the entire service! From announcements by Jesse and Niki to Offering by Laura and Katie and everyone gave a quick testimony of what God did in and through their lives over the summer! I am so proud of all them and they did a great job!!!
